The rifleman in the tin hat is carrying a Lee Enfield No4 rifle which was not issued at the time of the Jap invasion of Malaya. The No 1 was in use at that time. The rifleman is wearing Pattern 44 webbing which came into use in Malaya after the war.<br /><br />The tommy gunner is carrying a bergen rucksack which was also not in use in Malaya.
